Despite lacking tutoring experience, I have had management experience with entry level candidates straight out of college. I've also taken additional courses in Education and was studying to become a teacher at one point (3 years ago). I have 8+ years of experience with various companies, including Fortune 500 and smaller businesses. I have held a variety of roles - Financial Analyst, SOX Auditor, Divisional Analyst, Accounting Supervisor, Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant.

In my college education recently, for becoming a teacher, I worked with a variety of different students in reading comprehension. Part of making this work is understanding the student and their likes and dislikes. Grabbing their attention is key to getting them to hold on to the information they are taking in. I have a way of taking concepts and breaking them down into logical thinking. I wouldn't consider myself your "typical" accountant. Understand the basics and apply logical thinking from there, which is much simpler than trying to memorize thousands of rules. It was overwhelming for me in college and it's overwhelming for many students today. It is unnecessary, because you don't really learn the information, you just store it in short term memory and forget after the exam. A different approach works for students who aren't necessarily accounting minded.
